Test resources and prompts

Use resource operations to read server data. Use prompt operations to retrieve a named message template and supply its declared arguments. These operations do not require an agent harness.

Requirements

Use Python 3.10 or newer and initialize the project with m3 init and m3 setup. Download the example shipping_server.py and save it as shipping_server.py in the project root. It implements the resource and prompt used below.

Read a resource and render a prompt

Save this complete file as tests/test_resources_prompts.py:

From the project root, run:

m3 test -- tests/test_resources_prompts.py

The resource is selected by URI; the prompt is selected by name and receives its required order_id argument. The example value is test input generated by you, not an identifier that must exist on the server. See test MCP tools for the same server's tool operations.
